When we give in to temptation, it can bring us momentary pleasure.
However, if this acts against our values, we are often left with feelings of guilt.

With the feeling of guilt, comes the realisation that we have not acted in our own best interests.
Often, we can’t release this feeling of guilt, until we reverse, justify, or compensate for surrendering to temptation.

The difficulty is choosing between the pain of guilt, or the pain of discipline.

The deepest satisfaction comes from acting in a way that upholds our values. It is often our own weakness, fear, or doubt, that allows the temptation of instant gratification to interfere.
